The first High Bisquers' Tournament for the Read Trophy was played in ideal weather conditions at the Cornwall Croquet Club at Porthpean on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th August 2005.
The American Block scheme (Round Robin) was used, each player participating in 3 games in his/her block, each game lasted 3 hours, or less, if one player pegged out prior to the bell.
Paul Schofield and David Edwards, being the winners in their respective blocks, played the final on Sunday, resulting in David winning 17-12.
The Trophy was donated by Stephen and Margaret Read who are keen members of the club.
High bisquers are players with a relatively high handicap so likely to be fairly new to the game.
Third place went to Joshua Bradshaw, aged 16, one of the club's younger members.
Winner: David Edwards, 17points Runner-up: Paul Schofield, 12 points.
