The B League Match between the Cornwall Club and Plymouth on the extreme weather day, Monday, 25th June resulted in a Draw, after abandonment of play after lunch, due to flooding of Plymouth's courts.
In the morning Cornwall's Tony Dyson and Ron George won the Doubles, 6 : 4, versus Nancy Raiment and John Burgess.
Meanwhile Richard Wood, Plymouth's young debutante player, pegged out after only 5 or 6 turns
to the Cornwall Captain, Colin Hadley, winning 14 : 6, the match lasting barely an hour. Richard looks
to be a rapid improver and may well be a name to look out for in the future in the wider world of
competitive croquet.
Cornwall now have just one match to go, v Exeter, before finding out, having easily won their first 3 matches, if they will go forward to the Area Finals in September.
Final Score: A Draw (match abandoned due to weather conditions)
