Cornwall v Exeter
In the morning, Tony Backhouse(5) and Peter Cutting(15) won the doubles game 18-10, on time, against Roger Thorne(10) and Richard Hichens(11).
Cornwall lost both singles games, Tony Jennings(12) against Adam Wimshurst(4.5) 16-26 and Paul Schofield(14) against Mark MacNair 20-21 on time.
In the afternoon, Exeter won one of the four singles games, Roger Thorne against Tony Backhouse 20-10 on time.
Cornwall won the other three singles, Tony Jennings versus Mark MacNair 26-18, Peter Cutting versus Richard Hichens 26-3 and Paul Schofield versus Adam Wimshurst 26-10.
The match was played in fine summer weather and after a good tea everyone expressed their satisafction with the day, although Exeter admitted they would have enjoyed it more if they had won.
