On Saturday May 7th a team of six players plus a team leader travelled to Nailsea to play in the Southwest Federation Golf League.
The day started with heavy rain and two unplayable water-logged lawns, the two remaining courts were very wet with plumes of water following every ball. However the dark clouds soon rolled away and it became warm and even a little sunny later but at tea time the rains returned with even more ferocity.
The Cornwall team were not playing to their best ability and the only games won were one by Paul Schofield and two and a draw by Margaret Read. In all other games Nailsea were victorious but were generous enough to say that many games were very closely fought.
We were made very welcome and we all enjoyed our day finishing with a sumptuous tea.
Result Cornwall won 3 games and drew 1, Nailsea won 16 games and drew 1.
Final Score: Cornwall Rosevear 3.5 Nailsea 16.5
