Sat 16 - Sun 17 Jul - Wilson Salvers AC Doubles Club Tournament
The Club's annual Association-Croquet Doubles Championship took place this last weekend, 16 - 17 July.
The courts at Porthpean, with fine views on a clear day, were exposed to appaling conditions of strong blustery winds and near- horizontal rain showers. The wind certainly affected the stability of a poised mallet and it was claimed that the roll of a ball was deviated by the same. Members battled through the two days of play for the trophy of The Wilson Salvers.
