Cornwall v Taunton Deane

On Sunday May 27th the Cornwall Federation League Team, Stephen Read (hcp 12, captain), Peter Cutting (12), Colin Hadley (12) & Paul Schofield(14), welcomed the Team from Taunton Deane Croquet Club.

In near ideal weather conditions the mornings play commenced with a doubles & two singles games.

Cornwall won the doubles after a close game ( Cwll. 24, TD 22). One singles was just lost ( Cwll 22, TD 23), the other was a convincing win ( Cwll 26, TD 9). By lunch Cornwall were 2--1 up.

The afternoon's play was 4 singles. The afternoon went very much Cornwall's way with 3 wins ( Cwll 26, TD 10. C 26, TD 11 & C 26, TD 12) & 1 loss (Cwll 13, TD 19).

This was followed by the traditional tea given by the host club. A fine days play was enjoyed all the players.
The final result was Cornwall 5 games, Taunton Deane 2 games.
