Cornwall’s level play team visited Kingston Maurward to try to add to their one win this season. Kingston play in the very attractive surroundings of the gardens of an agricultural college with visitor access. They have a full size lawn and one of rather larger than half. The fairly long grass, and occasional rain meant that the balls ran quite slowly, but with some disconcerting spots where they speeded up. Single banked singles were allocated to the small lawn, plus doubled-banked games on the large. The doubles were shared 2-all, but the singles went steadily Kingston’s way, although with a few very close finishes.
Teams were: Cornwall: D Edwards (handicap 3), S. Read (3), D Honey (4), P Dexter (4), R. Foster (6), B Edwards (8), L Honey (9).
Kingston Maurward: K Burt (2), T Burt (4), J Bowe (4) U Greder (6), A Greder (7), L Hawkey (10).
