SWF 'B' League v Budleigh Salterton

NOT SO GOOD FOR FOWEY

Fowey's last match in this, their inaugural year of entry to the South West Federation of Croquet
Clubs' Association B League, resulted in a loss to 2 : 5.

The Fowey team, Rosemary Bradshaw (captain), Margaret Read, Stephen Read and Reg Wapling played the Away match against Budleigh's, Ros Major, Pat Meredith, Robert Golding and Jeremy Wilson.

The strong Budleigh Salterton team, showing their competition experience clearly throughout the day, gained peg outs in all their winning games.

However, Fowey's Margaret Read won + 1 on time to Pat Meredith, and Stephen Read pegged out in his game against Pat gaining a win of + 8 on time.

The weather was wet and windy, the Budleigh courts excellent, with a convivial tea to follow, so that despite a loss for Fowey, it was an enjoyable experience.
