We were very pleased to welcome old as well as new faces at our AGM on Tuesday 4th March.

In her report, Gwen Cussans, Chairman, congratulated members on their performance in Croquet Association and South West Federation competitions during 2007, which was the club's debut year for these events.

She also encouraged members to get in touch with eachother and arrange a game or two amongst themselves, Golf Croquet being the quickest way to get going for beginners.

The grass sward on the lower tea garden at the Fowey Hotel is looking good at present and should improve further with regular mowing.

Future Events :

A team of four will play in the South West Federation Short Croquet Tournament at Nailsea on Sunday, 13th April, endeavouring to maintain our place in the First Division (how did we get there last year, our first attempt!!?).

B League v Cornwall at Porthpean on Monday, 28th April.

Monday, 21st April : Lower Tea Garden Fowey Hotel : Work Party and Play from 10am : Please bring a plate of food to share at lunchtime at Gwen Cussan's house. More play in the afternoon. Suggestions and offers of help in organising social events are very welcome, the committee will be meeting that afternoon, so ideas as soon as possible please.

Margaret Read has kindly offered to organise a Golf Croquet competition, short friendly games amongst members to run through the season.

We look forward to balmy summer days to be with us soon.
