Budleigh Salterton v Cornwall Rosevear
Cornwall's Rosevear Team( 7 players) on Friday travelled to Budleigh Salterton in heavy rain, wondering if the lawns would be flooded. By the time Budleigh was reached the rain had eased to heavy showers & play was able to commence with breaks in the heavier showers.
With the use of 4 lawns three rounds were played by lunch (12 games). Cornwall Rosevear were in the lead 7--5, with 2 rounds of singles (8 games) to play in the afternoon.
Fortified by a very nice lunch provided by Budleigh, Cornwall Rosevear had high hopes. Improving weather & drying lawns proved Cornwall's downfall with them only managing 2 wins in the afternoon games leaving Budleigh the winners.
Final Score : Budleigh Salterton 11, Cornwall Rosevear 9
