Cornwall Porthpean v Exeter
On 12th July 2014 Porthpean Golf Croquet team played their last match of the season against Exeter at home.
The day started well for Porthpean with both "Doubles" games being won by Porthpean. Porthpean's Janet Bell and Trevor Bainbridge had a particularly good result beating Exeter's young Ben Relf and his partner Fran Conder 7 - 1
By lunch time the score was 5 - 5 so there was all to play for. Exeter went ahead winning three of the next four games. However, the tide turned for Porthpean and Janet beat Roger Thorn 7-4, Trevor beat Fran Condon 7 -3 and Cathy McCammont drew 4-4 against Ann Strewart.
The last two games of the day to be played were Doubles. Kathryn Smith and Gill Clark beat Fran and Ann 7 -3 and Rhona Foster and Graham Clark won their game against Ben Relf and Susie.
Final Score: Cornwall Porthpean 10.5 Exeter 9.5
