Cornwall Porthpean v Cornwall Rosevear
The first of our League fixtures on a reasonably fine but extremely cold day, with the lawns very dry after a couple of dry weeks.
The Cornwall Rosevear team comprised Tanis Boxall, Liz Honey, Peter Dexter, Fiona Russell, Pam George, Ron George, Cathy McCammont and Bob Cash.
The Cornwall Porthpean team comprised Trevor Bainbridge, Kathleen Moorshead, Gill Clark, Martin Hughes, Rhona Foster,Howard Rosevear, Graham Clark and Russell Moore.
The match started with four doubles games which gave Rosevear a 3 – 1 lead.
From then on with the singles games Porthpean took the lead for a while until halfway through the afternoon when the score was level. By the last few games the overall score was still very close and it went down to the final hoop on the last game between Kathleen Moorshead and Bob Cash for Kathleen to run the the hoop to level the score to 5 each, which secured an overall victory for Porthpean 10.5 – 9.5.
An enjoyable day played in good spirit. Another close match between the two teams.
