Final Score: Cornwall Portpean 11.5 Plymouth 8.5
On 22 June 2018 The Cornwall Porthpean GC team welcomed Plymouth GC team to Cornwall Croquet Club.
The days play started with the doubles games. Tony Backhouse and Felicity Owen drew 6 - 6 against Plymouth's Bob Savage and Nancy Raymond. Howard Rosevear and Keith Wakeford won their game 5/3 against Margaret Wilmshurst and Barry Wilmshurst.
The singles games followed, and by lunch time, both teams had seven points.
However, Porthpean pulled away with Keith Wakeford winning his game against Chris Spiller 7/5, Felicity Owen beating Margaret Wilmshurst 6/3, and Kathryn Smith winning her game against Bob Savage 7/3. Trevor Bainbridge secured another point for Porthpean, by winning his game 7/4 against Nancy Raymond.
Porthpean won the match with 11.5 points to Plymouth's 8.5.
The day was rounded off with a tea supplied by the hosts. Everyone agreed that it had been a most enjoyable day.
