Final score: St Agnes 13½ Rosevear 6½
After all the dry weather there was little green grass to play on.
However, the first matches were delayed by 20 minutes because of a heavy downpour.
We started by sharing the doubles games, 2 each, but then the high handicaps of the St Agnes team (1 – 12, 3 – 10s, 1-9, 1-8 and 1-7) couples with the home advantage of knowing the lawns helped the home team to victory.
Liz Honey won her doubles game and 2 singles to be the most successful player for Cornwall Rosevear while everyone else struggled.
St Agnes had 40 free turns as opposed to Rosevear’s 3 free turns.
Our low handicaps together with playing on unfamiliar territory made it difficult for the team.
The team from Cornwall Rosevear consisted of Tanis Boxall, Cathy McCammont, Liz Honey, Fiona Russell, Rhona Foster, Rob Adams, Peter Dexter and Bob Cash.
Despite the final score an enjoyable day’s play with a fine tea to follow.
